Nuomi
Nuomi's Taikang Lu boutique is stocked with just about everything a fashionista needs -- all with a clean, green conscience.

Sustainable is the name of the game at Nuomi. The design company’s trio of boutiques offers a range of smart women’s threads and accessories made from sustainable practices (that have created jobs in less fortunate communities).

The feminine finery made from organic cotton, bamboo, silk and wool (no synthetics here) is designed by a team of foreign and Chinese designers, including one who’s previously worked for DKNY. Alongside colorful knits, there’s a range of stylish dresses and cute qipao-inspired baby togs. Nuomi designers also do custom orders on request.

We like the yummy-smelling handcrafted glycerine soaps in a variety of flavors (from mangosteen to chocolate) and jewelry made from recycled industrial materials.

Also good to know, this is one of the few places in Shanghai that sell Spanx (a seamless bodysuit that keeps unwanted bulges tucked in). You might just need it when squeezing into one of Nuomi's slinky frocks.

They accept:
American Express, Mastercard, Visa, Cash
