Shanghai Apple flagship store opening this summer
Customers visit the first Apple store on July 19, 2008 in Beijing, China. Can you imagine the mob scene when the Shanghai Apple flagship store finally opens? The rumors about Shanghai (finally) getting only the coolest (looking) store ever -- that would be an Apple flagship store -- have been around for months, but official confirmation only came this week as iPhone Asia reports Apple Chief Operating Officer (COO), Tim Cook, letting it slip that it’s “now a definite ‘go’ … Apple will build a flagship store in Shanghai.”
All we have to say is … it’s about time.
Minor details like where or when exactly the Shanghai Apple flagship sore will open have yet to be released, all Cook is saying is that, “there will be another (Apple) store in Shanghai this summer that will make your jaw drop!” Useful. Last year possible designs of the Shanghai Apple flagship store were “leaked”, but your guess is as good as our if those are what it’ll actually look like. (And where exactly in Shanghai would that building make sense?)
Apple's only other official store in China (what, the “official retailers” at the Shanghai electronics markets don’t count?) is in Beijing’s Sanlitun Village.
