Shanghai's permanent plum blossoms
What's better than spring's plum blossoms? Getting to see Sail's all year round.Shanghai-based graffiti artist, Sail, took to the Shanghai street to create an ode to spring we won’t soon forget -- graffiti plum blossoms. NeochaEDGE also points out that it spells his name. Pretty sweet as far as tags go.
Impressively all done freehand, a Changsha-native and founding member of the well-known local graffiti team Pen Crew (along with Mr Lan), Sail has one of the most distinct styles of local graffiti artists.
When asked about his craft by NeochaEDGE, he says, “I’ve messed around with pretty much all the other styles. At this point though, I just kinda dread the average big-letter font style writing. It’s so played out. All the pieces you see [in Shanghai] are like that. I think graffiti should really appear ‘alive’ on the wall, so my pieces are quite dynamic and powerful in style. It’s almost like you can feel them moving. They’re not just sitting still for people to take pictures of them.”

Soundtrack by Shanghai-based electronic musician (and Neocha.com co-founder) B6, “Aunty By Me.”
And if you want to see Shanghai’s plum blossoms in person, check out the blooms at Pudong’s Century Park, or take a day trip to check out the peach blossom in Shanghai's suburbs.
