Shanghai Ocean Aquarium
Though it is forbidden -- you'll almost want to dive in with the Shanghai Ocean Aquarium's animals -- but at least you can adopt one of them.

Shanghai Ocean Aquarium is home to the longest underwater viewing tunnel in the world. At last measure it came in at just over 150 meters.

Press your nose against the glass to see a staggering array of sea creatures from all across the world: sea otters, Yangtze sturgeon, turtles, giant salamanders, lionfish, electric eels, spotted seals, jellyfish, Japanese giant spider crabs and Chinese alligators to name just a few.

If you get smitten with any of these exotic creatures you can even register to adopt one.

The displays at Shanghai Ocean Aquarium are both entertaining and educational: exhibits such as 'Save Our Sharks' encourage kids to develop an interest in protecting sea life.
