Paper Life, a tiny showroom on Julu Lu, helps anyone make their home a cozy nest full of warm lights.

The store almost overwhelms you with the variety of styles, sizes, colors, and textures of collapsible lighting fixtures made with handmade paper it offers. You’ll find greater variety here (and often cheaper prices) than in IKEA and if you don’t see what you like, you can custom design your own paper lantern, choosing the paper design, color and the lantern’s size and shape.

From hanging lanterns to whimsical standing lamps in the shape of male and female heads, mushrooms and even an Oscar statuette, all lanterns are portable, and since they’re made for export, the owners can help you select the right electrical cord and plug for wherever you’re headed.
