Avatar China premiere postponed

If you've been counting the days until Avatar hits your local theater, add another 48 hours to the wait
Avatar China

At least Avatar is coming to China. The highly anticipated Hollwood blockbuster has pushed back its China release date from January 2 to January 4, according to reports from local entertainment magazine City Weekend.

Although the China Film Group Corporation, the body who decides if and when you get to see movies (local and foreign in China), didn’t state a reason for the delay, it is suspected that they’re trying to allow Chinese films more time to profit during peak reel season. It could also have something to do with the recent WTO ruling on Chinese media restrictions. As long as it's released in the theaters and we don't need to wait for the DVD, we're happy.

Now that you’re psyched for Avatar's China debut, mark you calendar for January 4 and make sure to get to the Peace Cinema (290 Xizang Zhong Lu, near Hankou Lu è„żè—äžè·Ż290ć·, èż‘æ±‰ćŁè·Ż) to watch the who thing on Imax 3D. If there was ever a movie to cancel all else for, this is it.
