Will Baidu's minimalist look disappear with Google?
Youku video: “What will happen to Baidu when Google leaves China?”
This Youku video has been passed around the Chinese net (thanks to ChinaYouRen for this) and Twitter since Google’s announcement that some people's personal Gmail accounts were hacked by "unknown forces."
Those who have never seen a Chinese Internet page might not get it, but the humor in this video comes from the fact that Chinese web pages are insanely cluttered by Western design standards, except for Baidu -- until now. If you need a refresher, look at Taobao’s page.
Baidu's homepage is one of the only clutter-free Chinese web page because it’s more or less, actually more than less, a knock off of the Google homepage. Now that Baidu is the only major player in the Chinese market, the video answer the question posed in the title, “What will happen to Baidu when Google leaves China?”
