The making of a blog star
Bloggers, once satisfied to toil in internet obscurity, are stepping out, becoming mini-screen blog stars -- or trying to, at least.
Blogstar has just launched the first episode of a new web-based series “featuring a blogger trying to make it big in the most exciting country in the world!” (They mean China.)
As reported by Lost Laowai, local expat blogger Oli, of djod.co.uk, has decided to become “the world’s first blog star.”
The premiere episode, “Window to the West," follows Oli in his search to secure more Chinese visitors to his blog. Gotta be easy in a city of 20 million people, right? Yeah, not so much.
Will this win an Academy Award? No. But if you need a distraction salted by some good expat humor, this 20-minute video is the ticket.
