John Woo starts filming in Shanghai
Producer and director John Woo, along with cast members Michelle Yeoh, Barbie Hsu, Shawn Yue, Woo-sung Jung, Hee-ching Paw and Xueqi Wang, attended the 'Jianyu Jianghu' launch ceremony on November 3.John Woo's new film "Jianyu Jiangwu" ("The Rain of Swords in the Martial Arts World"), began filming in Shanghai this week.
Keep an eye out for Malaysian kung fu star Michelle Yeoh, South Korea's Woo-sung Jung, Taiwan's Chen Chang and Hong Kong's Kelly Lin, each of whom will be enjoying time in the 'Hai.
Accordin to CRIENGLISH.com, Yeoh plays a female assassin who falls in love with a postman played by Woo-sung Jung, though neither realizes that the man's father was killed by Yeoh's gang. Of course they fall in love before the past comes back to haunt them. Let the amazing Woo martial arts scenes begin.
Chang describes the film as “a combination of ‘Face/Off’ and ‘Mr. and Mrs. Smith’ set in China's ancient Ming Dynasty."
