MAYA
MAYA does the unthinkable making Mexican food upscale. You'll believe it when you try it.

MAYA’s chef Brad Turley was brought up with Tex-Mex cuisine in a southern United States family, and he has adapted this acquired culinary savvy to a sophisticated cross-border menu aimed at Shanghai's mid-range diners.

Don’t expect cantina-style Mexican flags or tootin' mariachis. Instead, you get a loungy Mayan-themed interior with stone carvings, pristine tablecloths, out-sized bone-china plates and pumping Latino-pop.

MAYA's blackened chicken taco salad with red beans and pickles is large enough to share, Snapper veracruz is coastal Mexico at its tastiest, while the meat-eaters among us can journey further south with a churrasco estilo Argentino.

But do MAYA's margaritas pack the required tequila punch? Sí, no hay duda.
