There is a reason M on the Bund has been a Bund staple for over a decade: it's that good. And, we'd venture to say that the legendary M Pavolva has something to do with it as well.
M's Famous Pavlova is a meringue torte heaped with diced tropical fruit and glazed with a tangy passion fruit sauce. Dry and crispy on the outside and soft like angels once you dig in, the M Pavlova is far more flavorful than any beaten egg whites have the right to taste.
This is a must-try Shanghai dessert for, well, anyone, and M has the numbers to prove it.
Fact: M on the Bund sold 694 pavlovas containing 1,250 egg whites in a single month in March 2010.
The rest of M's extensive menu offers a mix of of European and Middle Eastern dishes. You might have a difficult time concentrating on your food though -- no matter how good -- with the unbeatable Bund view from the terrace.
