This former club-turner-fine dining restaurant, is still attracting patrons to Gubei for good drinks but now also for its French cuisine. They do French food with Japanese influences.
An odd combination? Yes, but a delicious one.
The Door's chef, who is Japanese, does elegant French food; beef is a restaurant specialty.
The Asian décor, an elegant setting with low light, does for the eye what the beef teppanyaki -- a menu staple -- does for the tongue.
After dinner, patrons aren't usually in a rush to leave, lingering until late (or early) hours over The Door's equally gourmet cocktails.
