Kaiba: The Belgian beer bar

Downing pints of Belgian beer in an old Shanghai monastery -- well cool. Kaiba claims to be Shanghai’s first and only Belgian beer bar.  Frankly, we don't care if it is or isn't -- we'd like it either way.

Housed next to an old convent, the small and intentionally unpretentious space is meant for those who form part of the city’s 'in-the-know.'

On weekends there’s live jazz, while on weeknights Kaiba is frequented by veteran Shanghai expats looking for an off-the-beaten path place to unwind. Stella Artois is served on tap as well as more unique -- and expensive -- brews by the bottle. 

Sit outside on warm nights or cozy up inside when it’s cool, or downright cold. You can’t go wrong with Belgian beer, a cool setting, and live jazz now can you? Kaiba serves up the goods.
