DR Bar: Chill baby chill

DR Bar represents an island of unpretentiousness in the glittering ocean that is Xintiandi.

In fact, the back-alley DR Bar, is owned by the American architect of the Xintiandi redevelopment.

The dark, minimalist martini lounge is adorned with low-slung lounges, a woven silver and ink stone vodka bar and stacked walls of reclaimed roof tiles, all sourced from within China. It's all very chilled (and we're not talking about the temperature).

Tousled architect and designer types can be spotted at DR Bar discussing ‘design resources’ while downing serious cocktails and shooters served in unglazed Shanghai cricket jars.  After all, the DR in DR Bar stands for designer resource.
