aA Design Museum

Located in the artist-laden neighborhood of Hongdae, it is only natural that the aA Design Museum takes on a quirk of its own. The Museum is a combo of café and designer furniture showroom and is the realization of the life-long dream of its owner, Myung Hwan Kim, who spent more than 20 years collecting sleek and stylish furniture from all over the world.
 
Each floor emits a different unusual atmosphere with carefully crafted interior design; the basement is an industrial-inspired space that emits a rusty and raw ambience, while the third floor features eclectic Bauhaus and modern vintage chairs reminiscent of a lofty designer's apartment in the Upper East Side.  
 
Every piece in the aA Design Museum has its own history and visa stamps, from the tiles that were flown in from Italy to the 19th-century French doors.  
 
The café is just a standard coffee shop with normal drinks and snacks, but is très chic with its fashionable chairs and lounges. Get there early if you want a seat.
