Samcheonggak

Samcheonggak, which means "Three Purities Palace" in Korean, was built in 1972 as a venue for high ranking government officials to entertain and host political conferences.

The premises are built in traditional Korean style, with an eight-sided pavilion, a classical hall for performing arts, tea rooms, and beautifully landscaped gardens.

Samcheonggak’s Ilhwa Hall, which translates as “Hall of Harmonious Union,” was originally built to host an epochal meeting between North and South Korean leaders in the 1970s. These days, it serves as a venue for traditional and modern performance art shows.

Asadal, located on the first floor of Ilhwa Hall, is a restaurant serving fine traditional Korean cuisine. Cheongdawon, situated next to Ilhwa Hall, is a traditional teahouse with a terrace overlooking the woods surrounding the property.
