Samarikant Kafe

Samarikant Kafe is a great introduction to Uzbek food and for those already familiar with the cuisine, disappointment won't be found.

Decorated with beautiful embroidery and pieces of traditional Uzbek clothing, the small restaurant’s ambiance provides a dose of Uzbek culture. Uzbek television accompanies the experience.

Samarikant Kafe's food is both delicious and filling, and every meal comes with a simple but fantastic carrot salad. Vodka, or a Russian beer can complement the meal.

It's slightly tricky to find.

Directions:
Take exit 5 at Dongdaemun History and Culture Park Station (lines 2, 4 and 5).
Upon leaving the station, make an immediate right, crossing the street.
Turn left, and walk down the street until you see A+ norebang (it may not be as noticeable during the day, so keep your eyes open). Turn down the alley directly to the right of A+ norebang and walk until you find Samarikant Kafe. It will be on your right, with a big orange sign (there’s no English on the sign so make sure you look for 사마리칸트).
