From the creators of Juice salons, The Barber Shop is Mumbai's first high-end, independent men-only salon.
Local barbers aplenty can do clean shaves and head massages. Pedicures are to be had at luxury hotels. But as a one-stop shop for all this, plus facials, massages, signature pedicures and hair-loss treatments, at a reasonable price -- The Barber Shop is indeed the first to bring it all together in a way that appeals to the urban yuppie.
Inspired by mid-Western decor and designed by Ambika Hinduja, miniature vintage airplanes and bikes hang from the ceiling. Men can enjoy energy drinks and chill out to jazz or blues.
"Urban men are very aware of the importance of being well-groomed," said Nitin Kalwani, who promotes both Juice and The Barber Shop.
"Getting a stylish cut, pedicure or massage is a way for Mumbai men to look and feel great, and no longer be embarrassed about it."
The Neat Cut (a basic trim) starts at Rs 150, with other signature services such as The Pressure (an Oriental head and shoulder massage) cost Rs 400 and up.
