With a location in full view of the airport, the Sahara star looks like a stadium that ran out of funding halfway through construction. But a look inside reveals an -- OMG, look at the fishies!!!
The Sahara Star -- purportedly the world's largest pillar-less clear-to-sky dome (look it up!) -- boasts, among other lures, India’s largest aquarium, which houses over 100 different species of sealife. The 4,000-square-foot tank's leopard eels, morays, emperor angelfish and butterfly fish serve as a backdrop for the hotel's marquee restaurant, Ocean, where you can dine on Indian, Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese and other "Pacific Rim specialties" while watching certified divers feed the fish.
Erected by the builders of London’s Millennium Dome and the Petronas Towers in Malaysia, Sahara Star's other less gimmicky appointments include a spa, business center, banquet and conference facilities and quarters that trend rather spacious. Especially if, in the case of the Sahara Star's 55,000-square-foot lagoon, you have gills.
