Sunrise yoga... marble bathrooms... designer sushi -- the only Four Seasons hotel in India can gourmet just about anything, while offering all of the usual services expected from this upscale chain.
The Four Seasons Mumbai asserts itself the city's most luxurious accommodation, with 202 rooms and suites offering views of the Arabian Sea, Mahalaxmi race course and Mumbai's changing skyline. Curiously absent, however, is any mention of the hotel's unobstructed vistas of Worli slums.
The spa is a hot sell, though, boasting two floors, locally inspired Ayurvedic treatments and an 18-meter outdoor pool. And The Club, which has become Mumbai's most exclusive private members' business center, finally provides the city a forum in which a millionaire can be a millionaire.
Guests can venture into town via the hotel's fleet of 7 Series BMWs, or customized walking or cycling tours (which sound scary, actually), then return to the Four Seasons to pick at a selection of Japanese, Chinese and Indian designer cuisine at the sleek San-Qi restaurant, designed by hip Tokyo firm Super Potato. We recommend the gourmet unicorn.
