Brown Paper Bag delivery for CNNGo Mumbai

Mumbai's secret scouters of cool bring you the best of what's new and undiscovered. This week, a trunk full of fashion, drunken dates and the smartest gift registry service we've seen yet

Date a chocolate: Get drunk on a date

Bpb always recommends getting drunk on a date, especially those dates as yummy as Vijeta's at Date a Chocolate. The confectioner fills safawi and medjoul dates with chocolate and potent shots of alcohol including whisky, tequila and Baileys. Flavors for virgins available as well. CrossFit: Juhu's fun new sweat shop

In four months instructor Dheepesh Bhatt has creatively turned Bandra -- church steps, steep slopes, parks and building rooftops -- into a giant gym, mixing cool venues and unusual props with a combination of gymnastics, sprinting and weight lifting to devise a series of super intense workouts called CrossFit. Now, after literally earning his street cred, Bhatt has finally a found his merry band of Crossfitters -- locals, professionals and Bollywood stars -- a nice home in a brand new Juhu studio. Wishberry: Gift registry service

Let's assume your friends have no gifting imagination and you really don't need another striped shirt. Wishberry's brand new online registry lets you pick presents from their expanding seriously cool catalogue (rafting trips, foosball tables, Blackberry, clothes from Mango and Promod) or start a fund for your dream purchases on Facebook, for which they’ll send you a cheque. Your friends can buy individually, or gang up to chip in for a single dream gift. Now you're talking! For more details, click here.

Trunk: Clothes concept store in Colaba

Apparently, the fashion philosophy behind Trunk is to bring alternative style to India, labels that bridge the gap between luxury and high street brands. If all goes according to plan, there will be close to 40 branches across the country (the New Delhi outpost is scheduled for November), stocked with lesser known lines from across the globe. At the Mumbai store painted in cheery yellow, owner Pratik Sheth displays brands from South America, Holland, the United States and England, his home base. We managed to unearth an austere white shirt with robot shoulders by Pupula (Rs 2,600); a Laura Dawson short jumpsuit in pale grey with splashes of colour (Rs 6,500); soft black and white T-shirts by David and Goliath (Rs 1,900) and a salmon pink satin miniskirt studded with grommets (Rs 4,900). Trunk, 67-69, Seaview Terrace Building, Wodehouse Road, Colaba. Read the bpb review.

3rd Step: Juhu's new house of music

3rd Step is Juhu's new 24-hour music apartment -- with an instrument and rock accessory store (3rd Step Music), a jam room (The Jam Room) and a record company (3rd Step Records). Run by the Veigas brothers who knew that they wanted to run three different music businesses ever since they were in college. "So we each took one step -- Kaamna towards the music store, Caleb headed for the jam room, and I, for the record company. Together we made three steps, hence the name of our venture," explains Jordan. Read the bpb review.
