Bombay Electric, the Colaba store with a welcoming little courtyard, is a breath of fresh air. Owner Priya Kishore capitalizes on the unique space to host everything from book readings, to craft exhibitions and photography shows.
More in tune with the fashion forward (New York Times called it Mumbai’s answer to Barney’s New York), Bombay Electric has cutting edge clothes by some amazing designers like Manish Arora and Rajesh Pratap Singh. Elizabeth Hurley launched her swimwear line here too. Adorable children’s kurta pajamas by Small Shop and in-house brand GheeButter and Cream, an incubated jewelry brand, are all worth half an hour here.
Not exactly a bargain hunter’s paradise -- style at Bombay Electric comes at a price -- so be prepared to pay to look fabulous.
