"Our youngsters are ready for the challenge, and we will get the right idea on their potential when we play the UAE," said star striker Sunil Chhetri (above) in a recent interview for the All India Football Federation (AIFF).
Could the Indian football national team be the next Big Thing?

Recently, we drew with Qatar in an Olympic qualifier in Pune, we drew with the Maldives in an international friendly, we beat Qatar in an another international friendly and now we play the United Arab Emirates (UAE) this weekend in the first round of the double-leg Asian qualifiers for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil.

The first leg will be played in the UAE on July 23 while India’s home-match will be held at the Dr. Ambedkar Stadium, New Delhi on July 28, 7 p.m. kick-off.

Could be a fun match to experience if you happen to be in New Delhi. Otherwise Ten Action Plus will carry the live telecast in India.

India’s Starting XI: Subrata Pal (C); Debabrata Roy, Gouramangi Singh, Raju Gaikwad, Samir Naik; Syed Rahim Nabi, Climax Lawrence, Mehtab Hossain, Lalrindika Ralte; Sunil Chhetri and Jeje Lalpeklua.

Mixing things up, India coach Armando Colaco has left out pro Indian players like Bhaichung Bhutia and Renedy Singh from India’s World Cup qualifying campaign against UAE.

But the two senior players are included in a three-match series versus Pakistan in the United Kingdom starting August 25, organized by TouchSky Sports, a FIFA and UEFA-licensed match and player agency.

That will definitely be one that's fun to watch.
