Blue Frog
It's not official but we're quite sure this is the best live music club in the country.

We're all quite proud of Blue Frog. Not least because the 6,000-square-foot space defunct warehouse in central Mumbai made it onto The Cool Hunter last year as Mumbai's hottest club. Where world-class musicians such as Bela Fleck, Edgar Meyer, Zakir Hussain, Richard Bona and others have performed. And with good reason.

Blue Frog is a venue that passionately promotes good music -- anything from live jazz, blues, funk, soul, club and rock to electronic, Afro/Latin, salsa and folk performed by a mix of Indian and international artists who feature here, six nights a week.

On a central stage, with live AV programming, killer acoustics and a really long bar, The Frog, (its adopted name) has thrown much energy into music and drink, yet not neglected food -- with theater-style dining on individual "pod" tables, a satisfying Sunday brunch and Chef Mrigank's steak, the kind you'd leave office and your home for.

The scene has begun to spill over and now it's as much fun standing outside as inside, among musicians, clubbers, food lovers, creative directors, film producers and young executives. Which, coincidentally or not, make up the occupational pursuits of the six founding partners of the Blue Frog.

Having lived in Old Prabhadevi road for 34 years, about 2 kms from "Bluefrog" i found difficulty in locating the place on my first visit.Just a decade ago this locality was a complete working class "Mill locality" and even in my most bizarre fantasies i never visualized that Mumbai's most famous "Nightclub" would someday be located in this locality. Kudos to "Bluefrog" management for transforming a derelict mill warehouse into the most happening nightspot in Mumbai, although exorbitantly priced."Change is permenant", and the defunct "Mill Industry" has evolved into an entertainment and housing sector in the new era of commerce. "BLE FROG" is an outstanding example of this evolution of commercial change in Mumbai city.
