Fairytale Indian wedding photography
Self-taught photographer Cimmaron Singh started looking at life from behind the lens three years ago when she was gifted her first digital camera by two of her friends who figured she needed a new outlook in life. Her first wedding assignment came to her after she posted some candid photos from her sister’s wedding on Facebook.
With no formal background in photography, she says she "borrowed an SLR camera and plenty of nerve, and I jumped right into that wedding. Dressed like one of the many guests, I was all over the place…clicking, composing, framing, recording everything I saw, felt and connected with."
"I was in the dressing room with the bride when she had a panic attack the morning of her wedding, on the same bench with the father of the bride as he silently wept whilst waiting to walk her out and even had the privilege of sharing the same floor cushion as the pundit. That’s what you call being up, close and personal! Being a woman I have that advantage…the brides never have an issue about letting you into their space, the guests find you less intimidating than the spotlight bearing, wire dragging cameramen that give you your cheesy five seconds of fame right when you’re walloping down your fifth crepe, and others just think you are a trigger happy friend of the family."

"Many weddings later I still enjoy the adventure of the wedding photography assignment which is why I prefer not to be briefed too much about the events. I find it helps to arrive early, absorb the details, delve into the mood before losing myself and my lens into capturing the energy. That way every wedding is new and different and has its own magic."
"The ultimate accomplishment for me is when my images portray the multi-faceted emotions of the bride, groom, family and friends. The icing on the cake is when I can allow the bride and groom to revisit the most important day of their lives just the way it happened, naturally."
