Haiti earthquake: How one Mumbai nightclub is helping out
This is Mumbai's typical reaction to devastating big news -- the cultural elite are slow to act but a tireless few always pull it together at the last minute.Mid-town Mumbai nightclub Zenzi Mills is hosting Haiti Hope, a benefit dinner to raise funds for the estimated three million people affected by the January 12 earthquake that devastated Haiti.
Special features include: Local talent (Monica Dogra of Shaair n Func) and DJs from abroad Uri and Bobcat on the consoles, cute models and VJs behind the bar (Carol Gracias, Bhawna Sharma, Amrit Maghera and Mia Uyeda), a silent auction for some sweet goodies and an impromptu Asian fusion dinner rustled up by Zenzi’s new head chef Milos Ristic.
The charity ticket price for dinner is Rs 3,500 per head with Indian wines included, the target being to raise Rs 300,000 over the course of tomorrow night. A minimum donation of Rs 500 is required to participate and all proceeds will go to the Haiti Earthquake Benefit.
Dinner time is 9:30pm onwards. For reservations call +91 (0) 22 43455455. Since yesterday (when the event was suddenly announced), the Zenzi Mills regulars have donated bags, scarves and a Gold's Gym annual membership to the silent auction, the proceeds of which go to the benefit.
