Ashok Banker signs the blue god for his next book
If you haven't read this series you're missing out. It's good for the whole family. Novelist Ashok K. Banker is taking marketing matters of his latest book into his own hands. Through his blog, Confessions of an epic Indian, he's sending readers signed copies of "Gods of War" for Rs 300 each, with free delivery anywhere in India. That's a steal if we ever heard one.
For anyone who hasn't already read Banker's beloved "Ramayana" series, the multi-volume re-telling of the great Indian mythological epic and ancient Sanskrit epic poem is ranked number one on the Internet Book List. We're guessing that's because of the way Banker renders these ancient stories and characters like a modern movie, with fast, gripping and vivid action. It's an engaging way to connect to Indian mythological heritage.
Now he's going to do it again.
"I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve finalized a book deal for 'The Krishna Coriolis,' the eight-book series that will immediately follow 'Sons of Sita,' the eighth and final book of the Ramayana series," the Mumbai writer recently said.
HarperCollins India will publish the first two books in the series in 2010.
