This weekend Mumbai's joyous and jaded alike have the opportunity to get an exhaustive overview of the processes of holistic health and healing at a conference which bridges the worlds of Psychology and Metaphysics.

Now that alternative therapy has come into its own with the toll of modernity exposing the limitations of conventional medicine, this conference aims at solving the "Mind-Body riddle" which the organizers believe "is at the core of the human psychic condition".

Through a series of workshops on various "disciplines of self-discovery", leading practitioners will allow people at various levels of understanding and interest to gain "practical and useful insights into themselves and others."

Aug 13-14 will consist of an "introduction to the integrated approach", followed by a choice of two workshops per day on sessions ranging from psychoastrology to tai chi, including a focus on several therapies that are popular today -- from meditation, color therapy and hypnosis to past-life regression, psychotherapy, homeopathy, ayurveda, reiki, pranic healing, yoga, acupressure and acupuncture, taking in traditional psychology, psychotherapy and psychiatry in its scope too. Phew! That's some trip.

The conference will be held at the YMCA International Guest House at Bombay Central. Delegate passes are available for the general public for six days at Rs 6000, or per day at Rs 1,000.
