Mumbai’s best pav bhaji
While Best Eats judge, journalist and food
writer Vikram Doctor calls pav bhaji "a horribly excessive dish, too much masala, too much
butter, too much everything," his colleagues on the panel were kinder.

Mumbai’s best pav bhaji -- Recommended: Cannon

Cannon's pav bhaji is special because they allow the vegetables to simmer almost forever.
Filmmaker and Best Eats judge Kunal Kapoor remembers eating the stuff as a student. "My favorite used to be Sardar’s at Tardeo," he says, "but I'm not too much of a fan now. It's too rich."
Best Eats judge and food blogger Shanky was more positive. He gets his fix at Cannon.
"It's actually a favorite of mine," Shanky says, explaining that Cannon lets its vegetables simmer on a tawa and serves a dark, chocolate-colored bhaji loaded and topped with butter.
Judging by the throngs waiting their turn, a lot of people agree with Shanky.
