What's new in Mumbai?

Moshe's: Comes to Bandra
The menu at this brand new outpost doesn’t stray too far from the SoBo mother ship, featuring all the favorites along with a few new additions: creamy spinach, feta and white bean dip, served in a wide-lipped bowl and meant to be shared; pleasantly sweet and salty grilled pear crostini, piled prettily with goat cheese, olive tapenade and olive oil and apple salad. Kitsch: Chic choices for chicks
An offering from the Dallys! The building that once housed the Muse fashion shop in Kala Ghoda gets a costume change courtesy Kitsch, a multi-brand New Delhi fashion boutique featuring international labels like Lanvin, McQueen and Stella McCartney. Kick-off includes a trunk show by Elise Overland. Kala Ghoda; tel. +91 (0) 6615 3344. Full bpb review.

Bombay Underground: Cool kabadi-wallah
Where did all the novels go after Fort’s pavement sellers were wiped out? Into Bombay Underground, part book store, part lending library and part event space, newly started up in a grungy garage. Add in rock concert DVDs and cassettes, coffee table books, and rare international newspapers and mags from the personal collections of founder artists. Bandra; tel. +91 98212 09085. Full bpb review.

Sancho's: Tex-Mex in Mumbai
Maybe it's the dearth of fresh avocados, but good Mexican cuisine in Mumbai is a myth -- a
sombrero-touting unicorn sometimes glimpsed (Taco Fresco, Sammy Sosa,
Starboard) but rarely captured. Run by Dish Hospitality (Aurus and the new Tasty Tangles),
Sancho's is the second outpost of a popular New Delhi restaurant, featuring
the same menu and typical Tex-Mex ambience, which means mud-caked walls, fat candle-lights, tables inlaid with fiesta
ceramic, gaily patterned tableware and nachos coated with refried beans and scattered with jalepeno peppers, a
large scoop of sour cream nesting in the center and mercifully little
cheese sauce. Delish! Khar (W); tel. +91 (0) 22 67094455. Full bpb review.
