Chez Vous wine club sessions

Seats for French bistro Chez Vous's new wine club sessions are tough to score.

"Last month we had to refuse seats!" says Chez Vous founding partner Frederic Fernandez.

The idea is unique French wines shared informally on the Chez Vous mezzanine along with dinner.

January was Bordeaux month when they opened a Prieuré Lichine, Margaux 2005 and a 2007 Sauternes.

February was dedicated to wine of the Côte du Rhône and on March 7 four new vintages will be paired with food for the usual Rs 3,000 per person, all inclusive.

Happy hours on wine at AER

Happy hours just got happier. For the price of a beer you can now drink Napa Valley, Tuscan, Côte du Rhône and Wachau wines with a sunset panoramic view of Mumbai inclusive.  

The Four Seasons' rooftop bar AER was the first to offer Moët & Chandon champagne by the flute at Rs 600. This month it's wine at Rs 350 to Rs 450 a glass, during 5:30 to 8 p.m. happy hours, every day of the week.

"Beer, whisky, vodka and rum are common drinks because they are readily available. The same logic applies to wine. If people can get it for the price of a beer or a rum and coke, the awareness of the product increases," believes Jasjit Assi, restaurant and bar manager at the Four Seasons Hotel Mumbai.

"We're committed to promoting wine culture in Mumbai," he says.
