Olive Bar & Kitchen: Sunday Brunch alert!

Now that Sunday brunches are all trendy in Mumbai, we're tracking them like blood hounds, especially when they involve a post-breakfast pioneer changing its menu

Olive Mumbai
Brunch marathon: 29 starters + 15 main courses + platters of pizza + grilled meats and one dozen desserts.
Mumbai digs a Sunday brunch, especially at the new Olive Bar & Kitchen branch in Mahalaxmi.

This place will be well packed only past 2pm, because Mumbai likes its Sunday mornings at home -- in peace and quiet.
Why? Because: 1. We like to order well past 2pm (they take orders till 4pm) and eat al fresco. 2. We like it more when 'keep 'em coming' sparkling wine and watermelon martinis are part of the Rs 1,850 + tax package. And 3. We're sold when the 29 antipasti and dozen desserts are so delicious you need to ignore the 15 main courses altogether.

The breaking news is that Olive has redone their brunch menu with chef Manu Chandra and we're such believers we're doing what no one else does -- publishing the entire menu. So that you can think about it in the car on the way.

1. To drink:

Piat D’or sparkling wine, imported red and white wine, and Rosé Shiraz, cocktails, Kingfisher beer.

2. The spreads:

Antipasti + salads + sips + dessert (including hot iron waffles with ice cream, honey and maple syrup.)

3. Live interactive salad and salumeria counters

4. Straight from the kitchen:

Eggs of your choice or the English breakfast (bacon, beans, fried tomato), pan-seared foie gras with balsamic sauce.

5. Thin, crispy pizzas

6. From the grill:

Chicken, lamb and pork chops, Pomfret fish and prawns.

7. Vegetarian:

Balsamic mushroom, vegetable sovalaki, contorni mash potato, sautéed spinach

8. Pastas, fresh and otherwise:

Penne, fusilli, farfalle, spaghetti. Fresh Pasta: Ravioli and tagliolini with a choice of arrabiata, pesto, calabrese or carbonara sauce. Topped with mushrooms, grilled vegetables, chicken, bacon or prawns.

9. Sundried tomato or primavera risotto

book a table -- don't think you're just landing up.
