Wall Art: How to get away with scribbling on the walls of Hong Kong serviced apartments

Domus' "Wall Art!" competition allows us to legitimately draw all over the walls of the deluxe serviced apartment

Domus' "Wall Art!" competition is accepting submissions until November 28. The Hong Kong serviced apartments group known for environmental awareness and smart use of limited space are holding the competition to find a Hong Kong artist to paint illustrious murals on the walls of two deluxe rooftop suites at their Pok Fu Lam branch Domus U.

The competition is in partner with Random Art Workshop (RAW), which holds regular arts and crafts classes and art-centric events at their lofty Causeway Bay space. The winning design from "Wall Art!" will show Domus's mission of eco-friendly living while seamlessly integrating with the upscale contemporary aesthetics of the rooms.

Creative Director Joyce Yung from RAW said that Domus is looking for "something that's quite out of the norm for luxury serviced apartments -- but nothing crass."

See our gallery above for a detailed floorplan of the rooftop suite and a photo of the actual walls.

Deadline for submission is November 28. Send all designs to info@randomartworkshop.com.

The selected participants of "Wall Art!" will be interviewed and chosen to paint the murals. There's no prize money, but the rooftop location of the murals make them viewable from various places in Hong Kong, making it a great opportunity to get maximum exposure for budding artists. The murals will also be featured in marketing materials and press events and the artist may also have a chance to exhibit in the lobby of the new Domus Queens, scheduled to open at the end of 2009.
