MiraSpa, new kid on the Tsim Sha Tsui spa block

The new MiraSpa at the Mira Hong Kong has updated every step of the spa treatment ritual
MiraspaMiraSpa's indoor pool illuminated by fibre-optic ceiling lights reminds one of swimming under a starry night-sky, either that or in a pimped-out karaoke room.

The Tsim Sha Tsui spa scene gets a shake-up with the MiraSpa, a plush 18,000 square feet retreat sitting squarely in one of Hong Kong’s busiest shopping zones.

Every tai tai's essential TLC needs are covered at the MiraSpa: a 25-meter indoor pool, VIP spa suites with whirlpool baths, a nail bar and a hair salon manned by IFC’s Private-I salon.

Each step of the typical spa treatment ritual has been given an update at the MiraSpa. Here's a typical day at the MiraSpa:

Step 1: Sauna, vamped

To ensure sufficient relaxation before treatments, MiraSpa has the Heat Experience: waterbeds, steam showers and heated whirlpools all flanked by EcoSmart fireplaces.

Step 2: Aura adjustment

The oval Aura Room lulls spa-goers into a power nap prior to treatment with a sleek lounger, mood-altering light therapy, and a playlist of calming music.

Step 3: Full monty

The Inner Sanctum treatment starts with a mother of pearl or Himalayan salt body exfoliation, followed by an acupressure body massage and a facial using products from UK spa line Elemental Herbology. The final touch is the Mira Journey, a rub down administered by two masseurs using Apothecary hot oil.

Inner Sanctum Treatment, two hours 45 minutes; Mira Journey, two hours. Treatments at this Tsim Sha Tsui spa costs from HK$600 to HK$2,200.
