Best Hong Kong hotels of 2010 by TripAdvisor

TripAdvisor published their Travelers' Choice 2010 list of best hotels around the world, billed as a list "based on the opinions of millions of users."

The authenticity of those 'opinions' were questioned last year when TripAdvisor started posting disclaimers to warn users of potentially fake hotel reviews, which read: "TripAdvisor has reasonable cause to believe that either this property or individuals associated with the property may have attempted to manipulate our popularity index by interfering with the unbiased nature of our reviews. Please take this into consideration when researching your travel plans."

So be warned: If you're going to use this list, or online reviews in general, to select your accommodation, take them with at least a few grains of salt. Websites such as TripAdvisor are a great place to begin research for a holiday, but are rarely a definitive resource.

Topping this year's Travelers' Choice is the trendy Langham Place Hotel located in bustling Mongkok. Also making the cut are Hong Kong and Macau's hospitality mainstays such as the Kowloon Shangri-La and Wynn Macau.
