Pen Spinning World Tournament coming to Hong Kong

Pen spinning how-to by the Hong Kong Pen Spinning Association.

The Pen Spinning World Tournament will be holding the Hong Kong preliminaries at the apm shopping mall this weekend.

The tournament began in 2007 as an online competition between pen spinning whizzes who recorded videos of themselves displaying their biro acrobatics to send to the competition organizers. The Pen Spinning World Tournament now has contestants from 10 countries competing in realtime and there are 100 people already signed up for the preliminaries in Hong Kong alone. 

Contestants will be judged on style, difficulty, creativity, and fluidity of their pen spinning. Serious stuff. So serious that 2008 world champion 16-year-old Ryuki Omura will be in town to teach the finer details of his dizzying skills seen in this video.
