RAW celebrates one year with light-drawing and charity

Artists, models and socialites say cheers to light-painting, scrapbooking and everything that is art

Last Friday, art and design institute Random Art Workshop (RAW) brought together Hong Kong’s rich, beautiful and right-brained to celebrate its one year anniversary. While light-drawing photography, canapés and wine were among the highlights of the evening, RAW showed its appreciation by hosting a charity auction for the Qinghai Earthquake Fund.

The 1,350 square-foot space is for those who want to get down to the nitty gritty of art. Photography and jewelry making sound like new skills we could acquire. RAW provides materials for a range of art media -- digital arts, graphic designs, mixed media art, digital media, fashion designs and DIY art. "We believe the appreciation and sharing of arts is not limited to visiting galleries and museums," says Joyce Yung, founder and creative director of RAW.

Equipped with a pantry and TV, the only thing RAW is missing is a karaoke system that could save any awkward silence in private or corporate parties.
