Philip Treacy, a.k.a 'The Mad Hatter of London', will be flying in to showcase his eccentric hats in the "Hats Off to Elements" exhibition in West Kowloon’s Elements mall on September 29.

The Treacy retrospective will feature 35 fashion history-making hats, picked by the haute milliner himself.

“We’re holding this exhibition because we wanted to celebrate China’s 60th anniversary,” Rebecca Tang, Elements mall marketing representative said. Don’t ask us about the relevance of national days and mad hats, we’re not sure either.

Treacy attained fashion superstardom in 1993 when he sent a topless Naomi Campbell down the runway in his fantastic headgear. Since then, he’s dressed the heads of anyone who’s anyone, from Madonna to Lady Camilla Parker Bowles at her royal wedding.

Fashionistas will have a hard time holding back squeals when they set their sights on the Shocking Pink Roswell Hat at the Elements show. The statement-making hat first shocked the world when Treacy muse Isabella Blow perched it on her pretty little dome during London Fashion Week in 1998.
