Macau Grand Prix: The world's best racecourse
Macau Grand Prix's challenging course saw the launch of many F1 champion careers.
But it is not to be taken lightly. As the final, and most celebrated, leg of the Formula 3 Grand Prix, Macau's Guia racecourse launched the careers of many racers who later became F1 champions, such as Michael Schumacher, Lewis Hamilton, Jaime Alguersuari, Jacques Villeneuve and Damon Hill. This makes the Macau Grand Prix the Golden Globes to the F1's Oscars, by showcasing future F1 champions.
The notoriously tight and winding Guia course -- "the best track in the world," according to Polish star racer Robert Kubica - - is where the young and hungry show off their talent.
This year’s top contenders are 19-year-old rising star Marcus Ericsson of Sweden, fresh from his win at the Japan F3 championship, as well as British F3 winner, Australia’s Daniel Ricciardo, and the French Jules Bianchi, winner of the F3 Euroseries.
