Hong Kong Halloween 2009 parties to be caught dead in

Spooky pumpkin patches, murder mysteries, and pop stars -- there's an awesome Hong Kong Halloween party for everyone
Hong Kong Halloween PartiesTerence Lin, Andrew Lin, and Daniel Wu at last year's Alive not Dead party.

Dead not Alive Halloween Party

Organized for the second year by online artist community Alive not Dead, the Dead not Alive Halloween party is the perfect excuse to rub elbows with scantily dressed starlets and models over a night of booze-filled debauchery.

Last year’s star-studded party drew more than 800 revelers and hordes of paparazzi. This year, DJs Kid Fresh, Nat King Soul and Re:Flex will be spinning ghoulish beats at posh wine-and-dine venue Zuma. Tickets come at HK$200 per head, with a complimentary cocktail.

October 31, 11pm till late, Zuma, Level 5/6, The Landmark, 15 Queen’s Road Central, Central

Discovery Bay Halloween Spooktastic Carnival

If your tots are tired of the city’s themed parks, take them out for a night of family-friendly Halloween fun at Discovery Bay’s D Deck. Kids will love visiting the deck’s haunted house and dodging the 15 costumed ghoulies wandering around the DB Piazza.

For more timid kids, there’s a Spooky Pumpkin Patch installation for plenty of cutesy photo ops, and trick or treat counters for them to fill up on candy.

October 31, 5-10pm, D Deck, Discovery Bay

Deadly Halloween Night in 1898 at the Mira

The cast behind the popular Hong Kong and Macau dinner theater shows Murder Mystery Asia is teaming with boutique hotel newbie The Mira for an ‘interactive’ Halloween play-cum-banquet.

Feast on Halloween-themed dishes (canni-bull, anyone?) and gape as the actors around you drop dead one by one. Kudos to anyone who can spot the murderer mingling nonchalantly with other diners. Tickets don’t come cheap at HK$888 per person, but as they say, it’s a meal to die for.

October 31, 7:30pm, Mira, 118 Nathan Road, Tsim Sha Tsui

Horror Twins at Macau

Tear yourselves from the gambling tables for some ghoulish fun at Macau’s Fisherman Wharf come Halloween night.

Terror comes in double doses at the 'Horror Twins' event with two haunted houses, Devil Doll Factory and Horrorland. At MOP238, revelers can bag a fast pass to the attractions, plus a dinner buffet at AfriKana BBQ Restaurant.

October 9-November 2, 5pm-2am, War Game Arena, Fisherman's Wharf, Macau
