Nearly a festival: Time Out's big indie music worship party

It's Time Out's Big Night Out this Saturday, where Hong Kong's burgeoning indie music scene will be showcased. 

"We want to celebrate the quality of Hong Kong indie music," says Hamish McKenzie from Time Out Hong Kong. "It's gotten to a point where we now have at least 10 really excellent bands to enjoy here." 

The lineup for the show was chosen by an editorial panel at Time Out selecting from last year's Top 10 tracks of 2009, and is a who's who of Hong Kong's indie scene. So show up anytime between 4:30pm and midnight at Grappa's for HK$30 drinks and great sounds.

The night's program:
4.30pm: Metal Postcard System
5pm: Good Fellas (good-times punk rock, featured at Clockenflap)
5.45pm: The Yours (post-punk with attitude)
6.30pm: The Sinister Left (moody rock with real drive)
7.15pm: Volt In Music (zippy electronica with hot visuals, featured at Clockenflap)
8pm: Snoblind (sample-heavy electro, selected for SXSW 2009, featured at Clockenflap)
8.45pm: S.T. (dazzling electronica and visuals, selected for Red Bull Music Academy, we named his 'Weird Mind' best HK indie track of 2009)
9.30pm: A Roller Control (dance-friendly electro-rock)
10.15pm: DP (heavy rock duo, featured at South By Southwest 2010, Clockenflap)
11pm: Chochukmo (winners of We'll Make Your Album, featured at Clockenflap)
11.45pm: Poubelle International (bumping indie-rock trio, featured at Clockenflap)

McKenzie's Top 14 reasons to get to the show early:
1. The first 100 people to arrive receive mysterious goodie bags.
2. Hidden in some of those goodie bags will be secret prizes.

4. Metal Postcard Soundsystem will very likely play some tracks that contain dirty words.
