From street photographs to children’s books to piggy banks, the museum hopes to collect as many artifacts as they can to reflect the lives of people during this period of rapid urban development and population growth.
Already on display are photographs of events that influenced the lives of people from all strata of society, from the water shortages in the 1960s to the 1972 Clean Hong Kong campaign which spurred the popularity of mascot Laap Saap Chung.
