Art of commercial: Winning ads on loop
We all know and love those one or two brilliantly executed TV ads that pierce the mind-dulling fog of commercial breaks.
For those lamenting how the good ones come so few and far between, Hong Kong Arts Centre will be looping the world’s award-winning commercials in 2008 from November 28 to December 19, all day long. We're anticipating eye popping shockers and lots of warm chuckles.
Here’s a peek at the lineup:
Yakult:“Party” (Hong Kong)Clip above, Chinese only.
A tearful schoolgirl in 1960s Hong Kong tries to convince her boyfriend she's not gone wild when he confronts her about offering Yakult at a party. The spot is a 4As Kam Fan Awards 2009 winner.
Soft-bank: "Rejected" (Japan):Starring Ueto Aya, Higuchi Kanako and a dog with a paternity complex, "Rejected" is selected from All Japan Radio and Television Commercials 2008.
Channel 4: "The Shining" (UK)A selection from the British Television Advertising Awards 2009, this Channel 4 ad for their "Stanley Kubrick Season" brilliantly recreates iconic scenes from one of the best horror movies ever made.
