An alternative musical weekend for Hong Kong
Music party outside of the Art Centre this Saturday.Music Matters and The Street Music Series are bringing some of the most interesting music acts from around the world to Hong Kong this weekend. And best of all both events are free of charge.

Asia’s first and only regional music business conference, held in Hong Kong annually, is rounding up its three-day event with a free live international music festival “Music Matters LIVE with H&M” on Friday May 28 and Saturday 29th 8pm till late.
The festival is staged in venues around the popular night spots of Lan Kwai Fong, including The Cavern, Beer Bar, di LUX Ristoranti & Bar and Backstage Live Restaurant. It brings together a dynamic line-up of 36 international and local bands over two nights of free live performances, with bands from Australia, Canada, China, France, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines and Singapore along with some of Hong Kong’s best and most loved home-grown talent.

If you are looking for something more distinctive, Hong Kong’s own Street Music Series might just have what you are looking for. Co-presented by Hong Kong Arts Centre and Kung Music Workshop, the project aims at providing a different kind of platform for non-commercial music, also developing an identity for Hong kong’s unique street music culture.
The music selected for this event contains different styles ranging from alternative pop, to free improvisation, experimental music, and classical music. From the look of the line up, with queen of Nanyin Tog Siu-yin and Canadian rockers Inward Eye on the same bill, it is almost guaranteed to be a fascinating and extraordinary music experience for everyone.
