'Beat the Banana!' and help beat cancer

Contribute to cancer research by joining the World Cancer Research Fund's annual "Beat the Banana!" race
beat the bananaWinner of the 6km Elite race gets to compete in the UK "Beat the Banana!" run in May 2010.
The annual “Beat the Banana!” event allows all of us to contribute to cancer research by chasing after a life-sized banana with legs.

The event is divided into two segments: The 3km Fun Run involves dressing last year’s champion runner in a banana suit for participants to chase after. This year's banana man is Alan Chung who completed the 3km race in 9 minutes 23 seconds in 2009.

The 6km Elite race is for more serious runners and winners get free Virgin Atlantic round-trip tickets and accommodation to compete in the UK Beat the Banana! Run in May 2010. Other prizes include free MIX smoothee passes and health-check packages.

Beat the Banana! will be held on January 31. Applicants can sign up on the World Cancer Research Fund website. For more details, call +852 2529 5025.
