An auction of 13 pieces of Bruce Lee memorabilia will take place this Saturday in Hong Kong, the kung fu legend's hometown.

Jointly organized by Kelleher Auctions and Phila China of Hong Kong, the auction of items previously owned by Lee's friends and family is expected to fetch up to HK$880,000. The lot expected to get the highest bid is a handwritten letter by Lee to Taky Kimura, his fellow kung fu instructor, friend and best man at his 1964 wedding.

The note may fetch between HK$$200,000 to $300,000.

Other items due to go under the hammer are a custom-made coat that the actor wore in 1973 just before he died from a reaction to medication, as well as signed student membership cards to Lee's kung fu schools, and a martial-arts book inscribed by the actor.

The auction will take place at Phila China at 10 a.m. on August 6.
