In this town, Yung Kee is synonymous with roast goose. The restaurant is over 70 years old and is still going strong, roasting up to 300 birds a day to salivating diners who wait in long queues during the lunch and dinner rush.
Their roast goose is a succulent bird encased in a wafer thin, fat-laced skin. It has a rich red meat flavor with a delicious smoke-and-honey skin. Paired with a bowl of rice noodles, roast goose makes a great light lunch.
But barbequed fowl is only the opening act for Yung Kee; head to the restaurant's top floor for the prize-winning dinner menu. Customer favorites include 'cloudy tea' smoked pork -- a melt-in-the-mouth dish of fatty pig belly -- and the deep fried prawn with crab roe.
