See and be seen: Alfresco dining with a view of the Central escalators at Coast Bar & Bistro.Coast Bar & Bistro just soft-opened this week and it sounds like one ambitious kiddo.
Possibly the largest venue in Soho at over 4,800 square feet, Coast is going to serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, and it will use the minimal amount of energy required to do so. The bistro is aiming to become Hong Kong’s first fully Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) certified bar and restaurant, with all building products and furnishings designed to make a minimal impact on the environment.
We asked Coast Managing Director Kate McGettigan what dishes have been popular in the few days that they've been opened, here's what she said:
1. Corn cakes -- "The sweet corn cakes with fresh avocado, bacon and mushrooms for breakfast is really healthy and we use the freshest produce."
2. The Hangover -- "If you've got a hangover, then the obvious choice is The Hangover, which has basically everything -- sausages, bacon, hashbrowns, tomatoes, mushrooms."
3. Pies -- "People love our pies, especially the lambshank pie with mushy peas and red wine jus."
4. Vino -- "We have a list of New and Old World wines, some outstanding ones are Two Paddocks Organic Pinot Noir from New Zealand and Bella Ridge Estate Semillion, which was recently picked as Best Semillion by Australian wine critic Jeremy Oliver."
