Ser Wong Fun has been around for 113 years and is famed for affordable yet high-quality soups with medicinal properties.
"The soup base is most the important thing," says owner Gigi Ng.
A typical stock uses 25 catties of fresh pork bones, seven aged chickens, Chinese ham, citrus skins, ginger and natural sugar cane. As the soup cooks by double-boiling, different ingredients are added at critical times.
The preserved pork sausages are also very popular, particularly during winter months when people crave a hearty, meaty meal.
