Hong Kong restaurant guide showdown: The Michelin v WOM. Whose side are you on?
In one corner, we have international heavyweight champion Michelin Guide, written by food and drink experts, telling us what we should be craving for this coming year, handing out gold stars to masters of haute haute cuisine at the pinnacle of their careers.
In the other corner is last year's best seller: survey-based Word of Mouth (WOM) guide with lists of eateries voted on by "wommers" -- essentially average Wangs -- and sorted into user-friendly categories such as "Hangover Cure" and "Best Places to Kiss."
The two battle it out for the foodie community's love tonight as they both have their 2010 guide launch parties at the same time. Total coincidence, of course.
Latest update: Hong Kong's Caprice and Lung King Heen both got three Michelin stars, while Macau's Robuchon a Galera keeps its three stars from year.
